Lookout Mountain is steeped in history. From the ancient rock formations to the homeland of Cherokee Indians and its role in the Civil War, the mountain is home to the only private gated golf community. Canyon Ridge Club is quietly becoming one of the most widely recognized names in the golfing community. In addition to championship golf, the Canyon Ridge Club amenities will include: a full service spa, tennis, free form pool complex, and miles of walking and hiking trails. The golf course opened in 2005 and has offered limited access for public play. However, the club becomes entirely private on October 1, 2007. The second phase of the master plan has started with construction of the mountain villas. The swim and tennis facilities are scheduled for completion in summer 2007. Additionally, the 3,000 square foot bluffside pavilion which opened in August 2006 and has already become the focal point for community socials. The full service bar and kitchen can accommodate functions of up to 200 guests. The pavilion also features one of the largest outdoor fireplaces in the southeast.
Construction has begun on the main Clubhouse which includes men’s and women’s locker rooms, a full service spa, complete dining with banquet facilities and the spectacular Boulder Bar. Casual yet elegant evening dining will be available with a broad variety of special member functions offered throughout the year.
The Canyon Ridge Stables are located just a short drive from the Canyon Ridge community on approximately 50 acres of scenic rolling hills. The private stables provide superior equestrian services for Canyon Ridge Club members in a beautiful and secluded setting.
Lookout Mountain provides a wonderful mixture of forest trails, open meadows, walking paths, and streams meandering for miles. Along the way explorers will glimpse a great variety of birds and mountain wildlife.
